On the eve of his 60th birthday, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan surprised everyone by introducing his partner, Gauri Spratt, to the media. This was a big step in his personal life, as he shared details about their relationship and future plans. The couple has been together for over a year and recently decided to make their relationship public. According to reports, Aamir and Gauri have been dating for 18 months. Fans were curious about how he managed to keep the relationship private for so long. During a pre-birthday event, Aamir joked, “Dekha kuch bhi pata nahi chalne diya maine tum logo ko (See, I did not let you get wind of this)." Aamir explained that one reason they could keep their relationship hidden was that Gauri lived in Bengaluru until recently. He shared, "For one, she lives in Bangalore, or lived there till recently. So, I would fly down to meet her, and the media scrutiny is less there. So we stayed under the radar." When Gauri visited Mumbai to meet Aamir and his family, the actor pointed out that media attention on his house is usually lower compared to other Bollywood celebrities. He said, "Mere ghar pe focus thoda kam hai. Aap log miss kar dete ho (The focus is not as much on my house. You guys miss things)."

The 'PK' actor shared that what drew him to Gauri was the sense of calm she brings into his life. He revealed, "I was looking for someone I can be calm with, who gives me peace. And there she was." This emotional connection made their bond stronger, and it was one of the main reasons he decided to commit to the relationship.

Talking to the media the 'Dangal' actor explained that he and Gauri felt secure in their relationship and decided it was time to share it with the public. He said, "We are committed now, and we felt we were secure enough in each other to tell you guys. And this is better; I won't have to hide things now. Tomorrow, if I go for a coffee with her, you guys can join us, too." His openness about the relationship was well received by his fans, and many appreciated his honesty.

Unlike many who admire Aamir for his films like 'Lagaan', 'Dangal', or '3 Idiots', Gauri has limited knowledge of Bollywood. Aamir shared, "She grew up in Bangalore, and her exposure was to different kinds of films and arts. So she doesn’t watch Hindi films. She has probably not seen much of my work, too." Gauri confirmed that she has only watched two of his films, 'Dil Chahta Hai' and 'Lagaan', and that too, years ago. Aamir believes this is a strength in their relationship, as she does not see him as a superstar but as a person. He said, "She doesn’t see me as a superstar but as a partner."

Aamir has been married twice before, to Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, and has three children. When asked about his marriage plans with Gauri, he responded with humour, "See, we are fully committed. And I have been married twice. Par ab 60 saal ki umar mein shaadi shayad mujhe shobha nahi degi (Marriage at the age of 60 would not suit me). But let's see."
