The belief that ‘a film works at the box office only if it has big stars acting in it’ seems to have become a thing of the past.
What with big banners like Yash Raj Film’s and Mukta Arts thinking beyond the Khans and the Kapoors and roping in new talent instead.
Just a few days back, Yash Raj Films' launched a youth films studio, Y-Films which will be producing three films starring fresh actors and will be directed by first time directors and now Subhash Ghai’s Mukta Arts has followed suit.

These banners share the vision of providing a platform for new talent. While Yash Raj has announced the three movies which will present seven new faces, Mukta Arts is gearing up to unveil its new found talent.
Talking about the new project, Subhash Ghai revealed, “The film will introduce six new actors. The writer, the director and music composer of the film are debutantes too.” It is a proud moment for Ghai as all the talent working on the project has been trained at his film institute Whistling Woods.
“These people are young and bubbling with energy and have lot of ideas. By giving them a chance to tell their story the way they want will bring freshness to the film industry,’ Ghai said.
The man, who has given the industry some anmol ratans like Jackie Shroff, Madhuri Dixit, Meenakshi Sheshadri and Mahima Chaudhary amongst others, is sure that the audience will accept his new found talent with equal love and affection.
