Lihaaf

' (The Quilt) has received yet another recognition and this time in USA! The film premiered as the opening film in Montgomery International Film Festival (MIFF), USA (August 18 to 25) and received huge round of applause. The film had participated in the competition round at the festival and won ‘Special honour Award’.

Director Rahat Kazmi’s happiness knew no bounds. He was in India when he received the news. He says, “I am honoured and touched on winning this special honour. I am thankful to the family of Ismat Chughtai, especially Sabrina Lateef (her daughter) and Ashish Sawhny (her grandson), who gave us the rights of this legendary story for making this film. I think this is just the beginning and there’s more to come.”

The event was attended by the co-producer Oscar Winner Marc Baschet and Ashish Wagh. On getting this special gesture by MIFF, Marc Baschet who attended the festival on the team’s behalf says, “It is an honour to be a part of MIFF. Our film Lihaaf was the opening film and was highly appreciated by the audience and the committee members.” Producer Ashish Wagh added, “It was a great show with packed house and the audience simply loved the film.”
