During the pandemic, I stayed in Goa for quite some time: Sayani Gupta
Sayani attended a few masterclasses at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) a couple of months ago and describes the experience as deeply enriching. “It was incredible. I’m really glad I did this—the way the sessions were conducted was wonderful,” she says.
Known for her work in Delhi Crime and Four More Shots Please!, Sayani Gupta says her career choices are guided by creative intent and the scope for growth. “When I read a script, I look at the intent of the filmmaker and the overall story. I also consider how much scope the role gives me as an actor—whether it challenges me or takes me somewhere I haven’t been before. If I’ve already done something similar, I usually don’t want to repeat it," she says, adding, “As an actor, you take up roles that speak to you in some way — roles that allow her to evolve both creatively and emotionally."
