Exclusive! Did you know that Bollywood film 'Mimi' is the first audition that Sai Tamhankar cracked?

The face of Marathi cinema, Sai Tamhankar has always impressed the audience whenever she has appeared on the big screen. She has delivered ace performances with Bollywood films like 'Hunterrr' and 'Ghajini'.

Sai is all set to star in Kriti Sanon and Pankaj Tripathi starrer 'Mimi'. While this is not her first Bollywood film, did you know that'Mimi' is the first audition that Sai Tamhankar cracked? Yes, you read it right!

In a recent interaction, Sai revealed that she was chosen for this role through the audition and it was her first audition she cracked.

"I have done several Marathi where thankfully I got a role without any auditions. But for Bollywood film

I had given the audition and I cracked my first-ever audition" she added.

Backed by Dinesh Vijan, ‘Mimi’ is based around the Marathi film 'Mala Aai Vhaaychya' which bagged the National Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi in 2011. Reportedly, surrogacy is the main subject of the film. Directed by Laxman Utekar, ‘Mimi’will also features Manoj Pahwa and Supriya Pathak. The film is slated for a theatrical release in July 2020.

Apart from 'Mimi', Sai is gearing up for the release of her Marathi venture, 'Ashleel Udyog Mitra Mandal'. Helmed by Alok Rajwade, the film features actors like Abhay Mahajan, Parna Pethe, Akshay Tanksale, Virat Madke and Ruturaj Shinde. '
