December 14 marks the birth anniversary of Late legendary actor Raj Kapoor, who was considered to be one of the greatest showmen of India. Apart from all of his works and accolades, he was popularly known for his alleged affair with actress Nargis.

Did you know that the scene where Rishi meets Dimple for the first time in Bobby was inspired by the real life meeting between Raj Kapoor and Nargis.

It is touted that Raj Kapoor could never forget Nargis in his entire life-time. He was reportedly so obsessed with her, that he replayed the scene where he first met Nargis. He wanted the incident to be in the script thereby, reliving the cherished memory. The only difference is ‘Bobby’ (Dimple Kapadia) is baking a cake and not frying pakoras and she smeared her hair with maida rather than besan. But, this didn’t stop the young Raj (Rishi Kapoor) from falling head-over-heels -in -love with her again.
