Shot in Delhi and Gurgaon, it features Adil Hussain, Tisca Chopra and Rasika Duggal.
Raja Banerji, Assistant Vice President, Marketing, Pernod Ricard India, says, “We are happy to present Chutney through this unique platform which continues to receive an overwhelming response not just from directors but from viewers in last one year. Resonating with our core philosophy, the platform is meant to help directors keep perfecting their skills, giving them a chance to experiment in the unexplored realms of filmmaking.”
In Chutney, director Jyothi Kapur Das has used satire to look into the characters’ relationships and the dark secrets that they hide while casually going on with their daily lives. Tisca Chopra, who has produced the film, has also co-written the story along with Das. She explains, “The basic idea was that there are so many people who go unnoticed because they are not beautiful or rich. We wanted to explore the idea of what you see on the surface is not on the inside, so never judge a book by its cover. Since this is my first venture as a producer, it was a learning process for me.”
