‘Tubelight’ box office collection Day 10: Salman Khan film rakes in Rs 7.5 crore over the second weekend

Salman Khan starrer 'Tubelight' was one of the much-awaited films of this year. Although it did not fare well at the box office when it comes to crashing records, the film nonetheless went past the Rs 100 crore club in just six days of its release.

According to a latest report on BoxofficeIndia.com, ‘Tubelight’ raked in Rs 3 crore on Sunday taking the total to Rs 110.07 crore over the weekend.With an overwhelming response in the first week, the film collected as much as Rs 102.57 crore. The second weekend saw an upward graph with Friday's collections being Rs 2 crore followed by Rs 2.50 crore and Rs 3 crore on Saturday and Sunday.

Salman sportingly took the response from the critics saying, "The critics were really good. I was expecting minus 3 and minus 4 but they gave 1, 1.5 apparently, so I am very pleased." However, few reports stated that Chinese actress Zhu Zhu is quite unhappy with the way this film turned out at the box office.
This is also Salman's shortest film thus far, with his previous films like 'Sultan', 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' ranging between 2 hours and 45 minutes to 3 hours. The film was cleared with just one verbal cut.
'Tubelight' may not have fared as well as expected at the box-office, but that has done little to wipe the smile off leading man Salman Khan's face. The star was spotted teaming up with his adorable co-star Matin Rey Tangu at the film studios, for what appears to be a photo shoot.
