Bhumi Pednekar’s ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ has received wonderful response at the box-office. The film that touches upon the topic of open defecation in India has worked very well at the ticket windows too.
The film has collected a total of around Rs 209 crore approx worldwide in six weeks, as recorded by Boxofficeindia.com. This makes it the third biggest worldwide grosser of the year, the first two record holders being ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ which collected over an unimaginable Rs 800 crore and Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ making Rs 272.52 crore this year respectively.

Anupam Kher, Sudhir Pandey and Sana Khaan in prominent roles. The film is based in the Nandgaon village of Mathura in Uttar Pradesh and also has a special song ‘Gori tu latth maar’ on the famous Latthmar Holi of the region.
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ promotes Prime Minister’s pet cleanliness campaign ‘Swacch Bharat Abhiyan’.
