Bhumi Pednekar’s love story ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ has held its steady pace at the box office ever since its release a fortnight ago. The film that revolves around the issue of open-defecation in India went on to collect around Rs 1.15 crore on its third Friday, according to Boxofficeindia.com.

It seems to be on its way to become the year’s highest Bollywood grosser at the domestic box-office, leaving the magnum opus ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ aside.

The film is about a newly-married couple who are separated as the new bride (Bhumi Pednekar) leaves the house of her in-laws in the absence of a proper toilet. How the husband, played by Akshay Kumar, fights the rigid social norms to get a toilet in the house and his wife back forms the crux of the film. It takes a leaf from a real-life story amid PM Narendra Modi’s cleanliness campaign ‘Swacch Bharat Abhiyan.’
