Bollywood fans were in for some real action when maverick stalwarts like Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan came together on the silver screen, you're sure to get enthralled seeing them together.

Vijay Krishna Acharya's 'Thugs of Hindostan' which also features Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in significant roles has entered the Rs 100 crore club with ease despite a fall in the collection at the box-office. The film which saw a stupendous opening of Rs 50 crore itself on the first day, saw a drastic fall in its collection due to an average word of mouth and rave reviews by critics. Despite the versatile star cast, the film was touted to be a remake of Hollywood flick 'Pirates of the Caribbean' which stars popular actor Johnny Depp, whose character of Jack Sparrow, won several hearts.

According to a recent report on BoxOfficeIndia.com, Acharya's 'Thugs of Hindostan' has managed to rake in another Rs 22.75 crore on its third day which has taken its total collection to a staggering figure of Rs 100.75 crore. Prior to 'Thugs of Hindostan' the biggest opening day collection record was held by Salman Khan starrer 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo', which had collected Rs 40.35 crore in 2015.

'Thugs of Hindostan' is based on Philip Meadows Taylor's 1839 novel 'Confessions of a Thug' and is about a gang who posed a serious challenge to the British Empire in India during the early 19th century. While the plot of the action and adventure film revolves around the time after the British company’s officer Clive (Lloyd Owen) takes over the kingdom of Mirza (Ronit Roy), princess Zafira (Fatima Sana Shaikh) and Khudabaksh aka Azaad (Amitabh Bachchan) form a band of rebel pirates who swear to defeat the English officer and win their freedom back. The British Company in return, hire the wily thug Firangi (Aamir Khan) to track Azaad’s gang and thwart his plans.
