The Bengal Files box office collection Day 10: The Vivek Agnihotri directorial starring Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi collects Rs 1.15 crore, inches closer to Rs 15 crore mark

Vivek Agnihotri’s film has not crossed the Rs 15 crore mark in India even after more than a week in theatres. However, the weekend brought a small rise in audience turnout.

Vivek Agnihotri’s The Bengal Files hit theatres a week ago but hasn’t managed to make an impact at the box office. According to Sacnilk, the film’s nett domestic collection stands at Rs 14.15 crore. On Day 10, it earned Rs 1.15 crore, similar to its daily earnings over the past week. The movie had opened at Rs 1.75 crore and has stayed in the same range since.

Earlier, in an interview with Galatta Plus, Vivek Agnihotri said, "My biggest challenge is money. Nobody backs our film until the last minute. Whatever money we earned in my previous film, we have put in making The Bengal Files. I don’t know what will happen to me after this [financially]. The problem is that our ambition is to create something which is [worth] Rs 100 crore but we have very small money so we have to look after every penny and do things faster so that we finish shoot in lesser days."

The film stars Darshan Kumar, Saswata Chatterjee, Simrat Kaur, Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakravarthy, Anupam Kher and others in key roles.
