Competing with Kantara Chapter 1
The film is holding its ground despite strong competition from
Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1, which has earned over Rs 155.19 crore. It has, however, surpassed the lifetime collections of Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Rakul Preet Singh’s Mere Husband Ki Biwi (Rs 12.85 crore) and Loveyapa (Rs 8.85 crore).
About the film
The film received mixed reviews from the critics and audiences alike. It opened to Rs 9.25 crore net in India on Dussehra—higher than some recent Bollywood romcoms. However, it was disappointing given its festive release. The film also faced stiff competition from Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1.
The film stars Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra, with Maniesh Paul, Akshay Oberoi and Abhinav Sharma in supporting roles.
