The actor, known for helping thousands of people during the COVID-19 pandemic, went all out to promote his latest action film. He roped in international talent, including Vincenzo Condorelli behind the camera, Federico Berte and Filip Ciprian Florian for action choreography, and a music team featuring Hans Zimmer and John Stewart Eduri for the background score.
Despite these efforts in front and behind the camera, the film has received a tepid response from audiences on its first day. Fateh opened to a mere Rs 11 lakh in collections from morning shows as per Sacnilk, even after the filmmaker announced that ticket prices would be capped at Rs 99 for the day and that all profits would be donated to charity.
In stark contrast, Ram Charan’s Game Changer, which clashed with Fateh, grossed an impressive Rs 13.61 crore from its morning shows, which started as early as 6 AM in Telugu-speaking states.
Only time will tell whether Fateh can pick up momentum in the coming days. The film also stars Nasseruddin Shah and Jacqueline Fernandez along with Vijay Raaz. The film could also become a victim of January curse wherein the first film of the year usually don't succeed at the box office.
