Shaitaan advance booking: Ajay Devgn starrer has sold tickets worth Rs 66 lakhs

The year of Ajay Devgn is about to start, the actor has no less than 5 releases this year from Shaitaan to Maidaan to Singham Again to Auro Mein Kaha Dum Tha and Raid 2. His first release of the year Shaitaan is just around the corner, releasing on 8th March. Besides Ajay, the film also stars R Madhavan, Jyotika and Janki Bodiwala- a famous actress from Gujarati Cinema. The film is a Hindi remake of a Gujarati film Vash, with Janki reprising her role.

With the advance booking of the film already open, the film is showing an upward trend. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the film currently has 4554 shows listed, and has sold about nearly 28000 tickets collecting about Rs 66 lakhs for day 1.

Shaitaan falls in the horror genre, and fans who have seen the original, claim that it is one of the scariest films they have witnessed. It would be interesting to see how the film performs over the next few days following its release. The success of the film might open the doors for many more horror films; a genre that has mostly been neglected in Hindi cinema. Just a few days ago, the film has been certified with a U/A certificate.
