'Secret Superstar' box-office collection Day 8: Zaira Wasim's film mints Rs 2.25 crore

Zaira Wasim and Aamir Khan starrer 'Secret Superstar' is cashing in on the good word of mouth and great reviews since its release.

A latest report on BoxofficeIndia.com suggests that the film earned Rs 2.25 crore on Thursday taking the total to Rs 41.15 crore. The film revolves around the story of Insia Malik (Zaira), who is a talented 15-year-old school girl from Baroda whose spirit is ripped because her mother is in a troubled and violent marriage.However, she still dares to pursue her dream of becoming a singer and also valiantly attempts to free her mother from her conservative, cold father in the process.

The actress was also involved in an accident months before the release of 'Secret Superstar' where her car fell into the Dal Lake as it went out of driver's control. She was immediately rescued by the locals.
