‘Sam Bahadur’ box office collection day 6: Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama scores only Rs 35 crore

Vicky Kaushal starrer ‘Sam Bahadur’ is trying hard to stay strong while competing with the box office wonder ‘Animal’. The film opened with Rs 6.25 crore on December 1 and went on to witness some growth over the weekend, raking in Rs 9 crore and Rs 10.3 crore on Saturday and Sunday.


However, during the weekdays, 'Sam Bahadur' has recorded a massive dip in numbers. After maintaining a score of Rs 3.5 crore on Monday and Tuesday, this historical drama recorded a further drop and earned Rs 3.30 crore on Wednesday, reports sacnilk. ‘Sam Bahadur’ stands at a total collection of Rs 35.85 crore. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Animal' has managed to cross Rs 312 crore at the domestic box office and has minted over Rs 500 crore gross worldwide.

Commenting on the clash, Vicky Kaushal had previously said, "When two opening batsmen come to the crease, playing for the same team, you won’t say that the two batsmen are clashing with each other, they are playing for a single team, so we are playing for Hindi cinema. While one player might hit fours and sixes, the other player will be at the crease and take ones and twos and maintain the strike."


'Sam Bahadur' brings the spotlight on India's first Field Marshal and a legendary Army General, Sam Manekshaw, who played a pivotal role in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 that created Bangladesh. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, ‘Sam Bahadur’ also stars Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
