Aayush Sharma's third Bollywood release, Ruslaan, hit the screens last Friday and the film has been struggling at the box office since day one. The film opened to just Rs 55 lakh on Friday and saw a miniscule jump on Saturday to earn Rs 75 lakh and on Sunday, the film made Rs 85 lakh, taking the first weekend total to Rs 2.15 crore. On its first Monday, Ruslaan crashed at the box office by 52 percent and collected Rs 40 lakh, as per early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk.

The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 2.55 crore, though the reported budget for the film was Rs 25 crore. It remains to be seen if Ruslaan can recover the same from its theatrical rights. Interestingly, this is Aayush's poorest-performing film to date. His previous releases, Love Yatri and Antim recorded higher box office openings. While his debut film earned Rs 2 crore on its opening day, Antim made a splash by collecting Rs 5 crore on day 1.

Ruslaan is facing heat from Eid releases like Maidaan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which have collected Rs 50 lakh and Rs 40 lakh respectively on Monday. Directed by Karan Butani, Ruslaan stars Aayush in the lead with Sushrii Shreya Mishraa, Jagapati Babu, and Vidya Malvade in key roles.
