‘Roohi’ box office collection: Janhvi Kapoor-Rajummar Rao’s horror drama rakes in Rs 15.50 crore in first week

Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Sharma starrer horror drama ‘Roohi’ was one of the initial big films to hit the screens as theaters opened up. And going by the collection the film seems to have fared well in its first extended eight day first week at the box office. The movie hit the screens on the festive occasion of Maha Shivratri on March 11 and according to Boxofficeindia.com, the movie has collected Rs 15.50 crore nett with decent collection over the weekdays.

‘Roohi’ managed to rake in these numbers despite restrictions and night curfews that were impose d in a few places. Most parts in Punjab, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhaya Pradesh were reportedly on night, which may have affected the numbers of ‘Roohi’. Directed by Hardik Mehta, ‘Roohi’ was scheduled to hit the screens in 2020 but its release was postponed due to the pandemic.

From today, ‘Roohi’ will face some competition from gangster drama ‘

Mumbai Saga

’. The film may not affect the screen count of ‘Roohi’ as several films are getting an extended run at the box office due to lack of content. Going by the present trend, ‘Roohi’ is expected to sustain well in its second weekend.
