’, which is currently in its second week, garnered Rs 1.50 crore (nett) on Monday. With this addition, the total collection of the Rahul Dholakia-directed film stands at approximately Rs 123.05 crore after its 13-day run at the theatres, according to a report on boxofficeindia.com. It has already crossed the lifetime collections of three of Shah Rukh’s 100-crore grossers – ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, ‘RA.One’ and ‘Don 2’. Shah Rukh’s other 100-crore earners include ‘Chennai Express’, ‘Happy New Year’ and ‘Dilwale’.

It is a general belief in Bollywood that films releasing in the first month of the year fail to make a mark at the box-office. However, Shah Rukh’s release seems to have broken the January jinx.

According to reports, the Central Censor Board decided not to release the film since “the content undermines Islam and a specific religious sect”.

‘Raees’ clashed at the box-office with Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’. The two films hit the screens on January 25.
