'Pushpa 2: The Rule' North America box office collection Day 3: Allu Arjun starrer set to hit $1 million on Saturday; breaks 'Baahubali 2' record for dubbed Pan-Indian movies
There is just no stopping the Allu Arjun starrer 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' at the domestic and international box office. According to the latest reports, the film continued its remarkable run at the North American box office, achieving a major milestone on its first Saturday. The film is on track to collect $1 million on Day 3, solidifying its place as a record-breaking Indian blockbuster.
Pushpa 2 has reportedly crossed the $7.6 million mark in gross collections in North America, with the Hindi version alone contributing over $2 million. The Hindi version’s Day 3 collections are estimated at $1 million, setting an all-time record for dubbed pan-Indian films. This surpasses previous records held by Prabhas' 'Baahubali 2', Shraddha Kapoor's 'Stree 2', and recent Hindi releases such as Ajay Devgn's 'Singham Again' and Kartik Aaryan's 'BB3'.
The film is poised to achieve the highest Day 3 and first Saturday collections of the year for any Indian film in North America.
Meanwhile, according to Deadline, the sequel to 'Pushpa: The Rise', is still seeing a five-day of $10 million. The movie is rallying in Dallas, Toronto, Austin, DC, Charlotte, Seattle, NYC, Atlanta, San Francisco and Chicago.
With estimated North American collections of $7 million so far, 'Pushpa 2' is now among the top 20 highest-earning Indian films in the U.S. Leading the chart is 'Baahubali 2' with a lifetime gross of $20.7 million, followed by 'Kalki 2898 AD' with $18.57 million, and 'RRR' with $15.10 million. The film is steadily climbing the ranks with its exceptional performance over its debut weekend at the box office.
The resounding success of Pushpa 2 in North America is mirrored by its stellar performance at the Indian box office. The film has grossed over Rs 500 crore gross during the first three days, making it the first ever Indian film to achieve that feat, the producers of the flick said in a statement on Saturday. With numbers expected to rise further, it is reportedly on course to score an impressive Rs 600 crore weekend collection.
