Phillauri’ hit theatres on March 24. The film collected Rs 1.75 crore on its first Monday taking its four day total to Rs 15.75 crore nett, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com. It had opened at Rs 3.75 crore and gone on to collect Rs 4.75 crore and Rs 5.50 crore, on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
According to the makers of the film, ‘

’ collected Rs 2.02 crore on day four, taking its total to Rs 17.27 crore nett.

‘Phillauri’ is an interesting story revolving around Suraj Sharma who is required to tie the knot with a tree before walking down the aisle with his wife-to-be, in order to wade off bad luck. During the ritual, Suraj ends up getting married to the ghost of Shashi (Anushka Sharma) that resides on the tree. What follows, is a series of hilarious episodes woven together with a love story which is sure to tug at your heartstrings. The film travels back and forth in time, and gives viewers a peek into the love story of
Diljit Dosanjh, an aspiring musician with Shashi, played by Anushka Sharma.
