Mufasa: The Lion King, prequel to Disney’s iconic The Lion King may have underperformed across the globe, but in India, the film has been holding strong despite being in its fourth week.

While one would assume that it is the English version that would be leading the film’s collection, but it is the Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan Khan and AbRam Khan voiced Hindi version, which has trumped the original version voiced by Aaron Pierre, Donald Glover and Braelyn Rankins.

While the total collection of the film at the end of day 23 stands at Rs 129.83 crore, it is the Hindi version that stands tall with Rs 47.01 crore, closely followed by the English version with Rs 45.25 crore collection. The Tamil version voiced by Arjan Das came in at number 3, with Rs 21.7 crore and Mahesh Babu voiced Telugu version standing at fourth position.

Mufasa: The Lion King proves the dominances of Shah Rukh Khan and his family at the box office even with just their voice. The film’s collection has seen a dip over the weekend with the release Ram Charan’s Game Changer and NBK’s Daaku Maharaj, but since the former is not exactly setting the box office on fire, Mufasa might get a new lease of life at the box office and hopefully be able to come close to the India collection of The Lion King, which was Rs 158 crore. As far as Hindi version is concerned, the Rs 50 crore mark is well within its reach before it completes its theatrical run.
