Mohit Suri, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s ‘Saiyaara’ heads towards Rs 40 crore mark in North America, second only to Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava
Mohit Suri’s latest romantic action-drama Saiyaara is on a phenomenal streak at the North American box office, and it shows no signs of slowing down. The film, which opened to solid advance buzz and strong word of mouth, has now crossed the $4.5 million (Rs 39.29 crore) mark and is on track to breach Rs 40 crore and earn about Rs 43 crore ($5 million) by the end of its theatrical run.
The journey of Saiyaara in North America has been nothing short of spectacular. The film crossed USD 1 million within the first 4 days and by 10th day the film had crossed the US 3 million mark, an indication of how consistently it has been drawing crowds, even in its second week.
The film's incredible trending didn’t just stop there. As per the latest figures dated August 3, Saiyaara has grossed over $4.5 million. With momentum still strong and shows continuing across major centers in the U.S. and Canada, the $5 million (Rs 43 crore) milestone is well within reach. The film will witness a major fight with the release of Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani’s War on 14th August as most screens will be split between these two films.
Directed by Mohit Suri, known for hits like Aashiqui 2, Ek Villain Awarapan ,Saiyaara blends intense romance with pulsating soundtrack that has resonated with audiences globally. The North American box office has traditionally been dominated by big star vehicles or content-driven dramas. Saiyaara’s success stands as a testament to the power of word-of-mouth, strong storytelling, and Mohit Suri’s ability to craft compelling romantic narratives that transcend geographical borders.
As it inches toward the Rs 40 crore milestone, Saiyaara is not just a hit — it's a bonafide blockbuster, and one that has revived the Bollywood box office in North America in a big way.
