From a ₹15-cr budget to ₹200-cr triumph: How Mahavatar Narsimha became India’s animated king
The film with Rs 5.27 crore from its Hindi version has gone to become the second highest 6th week collection of 2025 surpassing collection of films like Ajay Devgn and Ritiesh Deshmukh’s Raid 2 ( Rs 1.6 crore), Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par ( Rs 1.08 crore ) and Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s Saiyaara ( Rs 2.9 crore), with only Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava recoding more collection in the sixth week ( Rs 16.3 crore) .The sixth-week trend showcased the film’s staying power across multiple languages. Day-wise collections stood at Rs 95 lakh on Friday, followed by Rs 1.90 crore on Saturday and Rs 2.65 crore on Sunday. Post the weekend boost, the film’s collection dipped on weekdays with Monday at Rs 55 lakh, Tuesday at Rs 75 lakh, Wednesday at Rs 60 lakh and Thursday at Rs 75 lakh. Thus taking the overall collection of the film across languages in the sixth week to Rs 8.15 crore.
Trade analysts point out that while Saiyaara, Sitaare Zameen Par and Raid 2 had a stronger start, Mahavatar Narimsha has displayed better legs over time. Its ability to draw family audiences, combined with its devotional and cultural appeal, has ensured steady ticket sales even deep into its run. The fact that it has crossed ₹246 crore without relying heavily on star power is being seen as a big win for regional cinema crossing into the pan-India space. The film is expected to show a spike again over the weekend but it will be a controlled spike as many films have released this Friday from Baaghi 4 to The Bengal Files to The Conjuring : Final Rites and there would be a hold over from Param Sundari and Coolie as well .
