Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 Box Office Collection Day 4: Dibakar Banerjee’s film gets luke warm response, earns just Rs 8 lakhs

After a hiatus of 14 years, Dibakar Banerjee revisits one of his most acclaimed films, Love Sex Aur Dhoka. Backed by Ektaa R Kapoor, just like the original, the sequel unfolds through three interlinked narratives. The first story follows Noor, a transwoman aspiring to become an actress. The second delves into the plight of Kulu, a third-gender individual who has survived sexual assault. Lastly, we encounter Shubham Narang, an 18-year-old boy striving for fame in the digital realm.

But the film is struggling to connect with the masses and has been facing low box office numbers from its first day, the film on Friday opened to Rs 15 Lakhs. Then on Saturday it dropped to Rs 10 lakhs and on Sunday it earned Rs 40 lakhs which was a 300% jump from Saturday. But on Monday which was an acid test for the film, it crashed to just Rs 8 lakhs. Taking the overall collection of the film to just Rs 73 lakhs, report in Sacnilk suggests.


It doesn’t look like the film will be able to hold on to its screens in the second week and will seem to struggle to recover its cost from the sale of its non-theatrical rights like satellite and digital etc. The film stars Swastika Mukherjee, Swaroopa Ghosh, Paritosh Tiwari, Bonita Rajpurohit, Anu Malik, and Mouni Roy.
