On the occasion of International Women's Day, the makers of Laapataa Ladies had announced an exciting offer. Aamir Khan Productions revealed that moviegoers could watch the film for a flat fee of only Rs 100.
However, this offer has not drawn in big numbers for the movie, which continued with its steady pace on Friday. Laapataa Ladies earned Rs 6.05 crore at the end of its first week and went on to add Rs 65 lakh to its total on Friday. The film's total business stands at Rs 6.7 crore in 8 days, reports sacnilk. After a decent opening weekend, Laapataa Ladies has maintained a steady pace of Rs 50-60 lakh in the weekdays.
Soon after the film's release, director Kira Rao had shared her thoughts on submitting Laapataa Ladies for the celebrated Oscar awards. She had shared, "Our primary recognition comes from the audience's response at the box office. If the viewers and the nation appreciate our work, that would be the greatest accolade for us. There is a specific community tasked with assessing and selecting the finest films of the year, and if our film is deemed worthy, we will submit it for the prestigious Oscars."
Laapataa Ladies released on March 1 and stars Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Chhaya Kadam and Ravi Kishan.
