Karan Johar is known for a certain kind of cinema, but with his latest film Kill, directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhatt, he has broken the mould and the audience is loving it. Kill is considered to be one of the goriest films in Indian cinema, where there are numerous killings taking place one after the another, and hence it had been awarded with an ‘A’ certificate by the Censor Board.

The film opened to the public on 5th July to a low number of Rs 1.25 crore, but picked up on Saturday with Rs 2.15 crore collection and on Sunday it reached Rs 2.8 crore. Though the film had a strong word of mouth, but it still had to pass the Monday test and the film managed itself really well. As per Sacnilk early estimates, the film went on to mint Rs 1.3 crore, taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 7.4crore. The Monday collection could have been higher especially in the Mumbai circuit, but torrential rains kept most people indoors.

The film tells a story of NSG Captain Amrit Rathod played by Lakshya , who takes on a group of goons headed by Raghav Juyal in a train trying to loot passengers. One of the passengers is Amrit’s love interest Tullika played by Taniya Maniktala. A Hollywood remake of the film is in the pipeline, with the rights for it being picked up by John Wick’s director Chad Stahelski's company.
