Sonakshi Sinha in the lead role has opened to a poor first-day collection at the box office. The comedy-drama explores the taboo topic of sex and is touted to be the only sex film for the whole family. The film also marks the big-screen debut of singer-rapper
Badshah.
According to the latest report on the Boxofficeindia.com, on Friday, the film has raked in a total of Rs 75 lakh on its opening day at the box office.
Earlier, the Delhi High Court had ordered the producers of the film to hold a special screening of the film for a Delhi based sexologist who has alleged that the film defames him and his profession.
The film which is based is Hoshiarpur sees Baby Bedi (played by Sonakshi) essaying the role of a happy-go-lucky Punjabi girl who adores her family and will go to any length to see them happy. She inherits a sex clinic after her uncle's death and has to run for 6 months before she can sell it.
Directed by Shilpi Dasgupta, the film also stars
Varun Sharma,
Annu Kapoor, and Priyanshu Jora in pivotal roles. The film hit the screens on August 2.
