‘Kesari Chapter 2’ Box Office collection day 26: Akshay Kumar’s courtroom drama mints 60 lakh on 4th Tuesday, STRUGGLES to cross Rs 90 crore mark

According to early estimates from Sacnilk, 'Kesari Chapter 2' brought in Rs. 0.60 crore (Rs. 60 lakh) on Tuesday, 13 May 2025. That’s quite a drop from the momentum the film had in its first few weeks. The historical drama, now in its fourth week, seems to be nearing the end of its big-screen run.


Occupancy on day 26
On its 26th day, 'Kesari Chapter 2' struggled to pull in crowds, with overall Hindi occupancy stuck at just 18.99%. Morning shows barely saw any footfall at 8.76%, while the afternoon picked up slightly at 17.17%. Things looked better by evening at 20.25%, but even the night shows—peaking at 29.76%—weren’t enough to turn things around. With films 'Raid 2' grabbing all the buzz, it’s clear audiences have started moving on.


Had a decently strong start
Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, 'Kesari Chapter 2' opened with a bang. It collected Rs. 46.1 crore in its first week and then managed Rs. 28.65 crore in week two. However, week three saw a huge drop, with only Rs. 8.6 crore coming in. In total, the film has now earned Rs. 88.05 crore in India. Despite having a gripping story and a powerful cast, it looks like the movie might fall short of hitting the Rs. 90 crore mark before exiting theatres.
A spiritual sequel
Unlike most sequels, 'Kesari Chapter 2' isn’t just about picking up from where the first film left off. This one dives deep into the events after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919. Akshay Kumar plays Justice C. Sankaran Nair, a real-life figure who took the British government to court. It’s a heavy, emotional tale filled with courtroom drama and political tension.
What’s next for Akshay Kumar?
Though 'Kesari Chapter 2' may not have lived up to expectations, fans of Akshay Kumar don’t need to be disappointed for long. The actor is set to return to the big screen with a very different kind of film — 'Housefull 5', the latest entry in the hugely popular comedy franchise. The film, which also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Sanjay Dutt, is scheduled to release on 5 June 2025.
