'Kesari' box-office collection Day 11: The Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra starrer sees a good second weekend

Anurag Singh directorial historical drama 'Kesari' which narrates the bravery of Sikh soldiers who fought in the epic Battle of Saragarhi continues to pull the audience to the screens. Starring Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra in the lead roles, the film witnessed a good second-weekend collection. The film is on the way to becoming the highest Akshay Kumar grosser by the end of the week. The film released on the festival of Holi on 21 March.

According to the latest report on the Boxofficeindia.com, on Sunday, the film has managed to rake in a total of Rs 8.25 crore on its eleventh day at the box office. The second-weekend collection stands at a total of Rs 19 crore. The film has managed to collect a total of Rs 126 crore in eleven days at the box office.

FYI, the film raked in a total of Rs 106 crore in its first extended week at the box office.

The plot of the film revolves around the historical figure Havildar Ishar Singh (played by Akshay Kumar), who led the 36th Sikh Regiment of the British Indian Army in the Battle Of Saragarhi, which was fought in 1897. The film tells the incredible story of 21 Sikh soldiers who fought valiantly against 10,000 Afghan troops.

Directed by Anurag Singh, the film also stars Parineeti Chopra, Mir Sarwar, Vansh Bhardwaj, Jaspreet Singh, Vivek Saini and Vikram Kochhar in supporting roles. The film was initially planned as a production collaboration between Salman Khan and Karan Johar and was announced in October 2017. However, Salman later quit the project.
