Kareena Kapoor Khan has been part of the industry for more than 2 decades now, and has delivered innumerable hits like Crew, Jab We Met , Good Newz, Udta Punjab and many more. But her latest film The Buckingham Murders, directed by Hansal Mehta and backed by herself and Ektaa R Kapoor, has turned out to be her lowest box office collection.
The film opened to Rs 1.15 crore on Friday. On strong word of mouth, the film picked up on Saturday to collect Rs 1.95 crore, and on Sunday the collections remained steady with Rs 2.2 crores, thus taking the overall weekend collection to Rs 5.3 crore. The film has been released in two versions, one is English and another is Hinglish ( Hindi+ English) with nearly Rs 3 crore coming from the latter version.
Going down history records, even Angrezi Medium, which had a limited run because of Covid, minted over Rs 9.50 crore over the first weekend, while even her biggest flops like Gori Tere Pyaar Mein with Imran Khan also collected Rs 9.50 crore, and even Tashan which had a delayed release because of a tussle with theater owners, had collected Rs 11 crore. Though film received a lot of praise from Saif Ali Khan and Rajkummar Rao.
Kareena will now be seen in Rohit Shetty- Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again which is slated to release on Diwali. It would be clashing with Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit-Nene and Triptii Dimri’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
