According to Sacnilk, Kantara Chapter 1 earned Rs 33.5 crore on Tuesday, taking its six-day total to Rs 290.25 crore. The film is expected to cross the Rs 300 crore mark by Wednesday.


Although Tuesday’s collections show a weekday dip for Kantara Chapter 1, this is expected. The film had an impressive opening day of Rs 61.85 crore. Despite the usual weekday slowdown, it has maintained strong momentum, largely due to positive word-of-mouth from industry insiders.

On day 3, the film continued its record-breaking run, overtaking the lifetime collections of Salman Khan’s Sikandar (Rs 110 crore) and Ram Charan’s Game Changer (Rs 131 crore). It also crossed the Rs 150 crore mark, becoming only the fourth Kannada film to achieve this milestone.

RGV praises Kantara Chapter 1

Renowned director Ram Gopal Varma praised the film highly in his X (previous Twitter) review. He wrote, "KANTAAAARRRAAA is FANTAAAASTICCCC... Kantara Chapter 1 is a prequel to the 2022 hit Kannada film Kantara. The film stars Rishab Shetty, Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram. Set a thousand years before the original story, it follows Berme (Rishab), a tribal man fighting for the autonomy of the people of Kantara. Prince Kulashekara (Gulshan) seeks to control the land and its people, leading Berme to rise against him.
