'Kaalakaandi' box-office collection week 1: Saif Ali Khan's film garners a total of Rs 4.50 crore

Akshat Verma's film 'Kaalakaandi' which stars Saif Ali Khan along with Kunaal Roy Kapur, Akshay Oberoi, Deepak Dobriyal, Amyra Dastur has had a moderate week at the box-office.
According to a report on BoxOfficeIndia.com, the dark-comedy failed to lure the audience to the theatres and has garnered a sum of Rs 4.50 crore in its first week.
'Kaalakaandi' is 'Delhi Belly' writer Akshat Verma's debut film as a director.After Saif's previous films like 'Chef' and 'Rangoon' bombed at the box-office, hopes were riding high on 'Kaalakaandi'. But given the movie's unique content and packaging, it seems to have found only a selected audience.
While the film is finding it difficult to grab audience's interest, Saif's performance is being praised by the critics.
