Huma Qureshi shoots with 300 extras for Gulabi

After doing author backed roles like Maharani and Tarla, actress Huma Qureshi is all set to play the lead role in Gulabi. In the film, she takes up the job of an auto-rickshaw driver and influences many others around her to break the shackles of societal pressure and constraints.


According to mid-day, for the climax portion of the film, the makers had gathered around 300 people from the nearby villages of Ahmedabad where the shooting was taking place. The report also mentioned that given the size of the crowd and them being not trained on how to be on the sets, one would have expected hiccups but the shoot went off without any issue. Speaking about her decision to back a film like this in the same report Huma mentioned that the powerful narrative of the film resonated with her and it was a story that spoke to the heart and soul.


Huma’s next project could have been Dibakar Banerjee’s Freedom but for now it has been put on hold. She will now be seen in Dinesh Vijan’s Pooja Meri Jaan with Mrunal Thakur and she’s currently also busy with Madness Machayenge - India Ko Hasayenge, her TV show which was brought in to replace Kapil Sharma’s show as he moved on to OTT.
