After the super success of Sanam Teri Kasam’s re-release
Harshvardhan Rane has hit a gold mine at the box office with his next release Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat with Sonam Bajwa has gone to on to collect Rs 77.30 crore in just three weeks. And this is despite clashing with a major film like Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma which is part of the horror comedy universe.
But on its 4th Friday , the film crashed by over 65 % to collect just Rs 17 lakh, as per Sacnilk. And with that the total collection of the film reached Rs 77.47 crore. Usually when films reach 3rd-4th week their Friday collections usually dip but they pick up pace over the weekend. Makers of EDKD will be hoping for the same.
The drop on Friday could also have happened because of the new release of Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh and R Madhavan’s De De Pyaar De 2 which opened to a collection of Rs 8.50 crore on the back of decent reviews and good recall value of the first part.
The film is expected to be in the theaters for a few more weeks and will hopefully touch Rs 85 crore mark.The success of Sanam Teri Kasam and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has opened many doors for Harshvardhan, he is rumoured to be part of John Abraham’s upcoming action film Force 3 . It is being reported that he will have a parallel lead role in the film and has been offered Rs 15 crore for it. He also seems to be having a conversation with Ektaa R Kapoor for a gangster drama film which will be based in Dubai.
