'Firangi' box-office collection week 1: Kapil Sharma starrer rakes in Rs 9.75 crore

Kapil Sharma might be embroiled in a number of controversies, but the actor's work is making the right kind of noise at the box-office. With a decent first week collection, his recent outing 'Firangi' is progressing towards the second week with a bang.

According to a report on BoxofficeIndia.com, the film raked in Rs 9.75 crore in its first week. The collections are more in the North, further states the report.
The story revolves around Mange played by Kapil Sharma, who is the village fool. But thanks to his quirks, he lands a job with the British government who were then, ruling India. He even finds love and everything is running smoothly until the villagers label him as a traitor. Now, he must decide between his job and his loyalty to his village.
Helmed by Rajiv Dhingra, this limited budget film is sharing the business with the Sunny Leone-Arbaaz Khan starrer 'Tera Intezaar'.
