Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘Doctor G’ is off to a flying start at the box office. This campus drama, produced by Junglee Pictures, is expected to have raked in over Rs 5.50 crore on Saturday.
With this humongous upward trend, the collection of ‘Doctor G’ is expected to be around Rs 9 crore in two days, which is a strong number for post-pandemic releases.

The film has received a love from Delhi NCR and East Punjab circuits. Helmed by Anubhuti Kashyap, ‘Doctor G’ narrates the struggles of a male gynaecologist, essayed by Ayushmann. This medical drama also features Rakul Preet Singh and Shefali Shah in lead roles. Speaking about the movie, Ayushmann had previously shared, “Unfortunately, we live in a man’s world, and more films and art forms should be introduced that drive this message forward. Like in this film, we have great women representation — Anubhuti Kashyap (director), Amrita Pandey (CEO, Junglee Pictures) and Rangoli Agarwal (associate cinematographer). Also, it’s not just me (my character), every female character in Doctor G has a voice — whether it is the character portrayed by Shefali Shah, Rakul Preet Singh, Sheeba Chadha or my batchmates. In the film, I am the one who is imperfect and needs to be treated. I represent the quintessential man on the road who thinks he is progressive, but he is not. So, I think this will definitely be a talking point of the film.”
Apart from ‘Doctor G’, last Friday also saw the release of Hindi dubbed version of Kannada movie ‘Kantara’. The film had a dull opening of Rs 1 crore and showed a growth on day 2. Early estimate suggests that ‘Kantara’ Hindi has added around Rs 2.50 crore nett to its kitty on Saturday, taking its total collection to around Rs 3.50 crore nett.
