Vidya Balan, known for her strong performances, has often carried films single-handedly. However, the landscape of cinema has shifted due to Covid-19, leading to uncertainty about which films will succeed. Returning to the big screen after several direct-to-digital releases, Balan stars in the love story Do Aur Do Pyaar alongside Pratik Gandhi, fresh off his last hit - Kunal Kemmu's directorial debut Madgaon Express.

Do Aur Do Pyaar follows the story of Kavya (Vidya) and Ani (Pratik), a couple on the brink of separation who become involved in extramarital affairs. However, a twist of fate changes their relationship's course, leading them to rediscover their love for each other. The film is an official Hindi remake of the American film The Lovers, starring Debra Winger and Tracy Letts. Despite receiving positive reviews, the film had a slow start at the box office. As the weekend progressed, it gained momentum but experienced a decline on Monday, followed by a slight increase in collections on Tuesday.

The film on Friday opened to Rs 50 lakhs with evening shows picking up most viewers, on Saturday the film collected Rs 85 lakhs and on Sunday it earned Rs 95 taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 2.5 crore. But the film dropped massively by 72 % on Monday, to collect just Rs 26 lakhs and on Tuesday it witnessed a spike of nearly 7 % to earn Rs 28 lakhs as per early estimates by Sacnilk. The total collection of the film stands at Rs 2.89 crore. Interestingly, Tabu, Kareena Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s film Crew in its fourth week has earned more than Do Aur Do Pyaar in its first week.

Do Aur Do Pyaar is directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta and also stars Ileana D'cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy.
