Gauri Shinde's 'Dear Zindagi,' which stars
Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan in lead roles, registered a collection of Rs 4 crore on Day 5 at the box-office. The drop is just 5 per cent compared to the previous day (Monday, November 28) when the film had earned Rs 4.25 crore.
After a five-day run, the total collection stands at Rs 40.75 crore, which is commendable for a film that was largely targeted at the multiplex audience.
So far, 'Dear Zindagi' also holds the distinction of registering the highest collection amongst all the other movies released post the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.
'Dear Zindagi', which traces Kaira's (Alia's character) loves and life, beautifully touches upon subjects of mental health, gender inequality and today's youth's strained relationship with their parents. The film also stars Kunal Kapoor, Ali Zafar, Angad Bedi, Yashaswini Dayama and Ira Dubey in important roles.
