‘Chup: Revenge of the Artist’ earns 1 crore in advance booking

R Balki’s ‘Chup: Revenge of the Artist’ is set to hit the screens tomorrow and has recorded a good collection in advance booking. The film has raked in around Rs 1 crore nett for the coming weekend, since the ticket rates will be low, fixed at Rs 75 for cinema day celebration. The present trend suggests that ‘Chup: Revenge of the Artist’ may earn around Rs 2 crore on its first day, reports boxofficeindia. The advance booking for ‘Chup’ has been decent and it will give some competition of ‘Brahmastra’.

‘Chup: Revenge of the Artist’ features Dulquer Salmaan, Sunny Deol, Shreya Dhanwanthary and Pooja Bhatt in lead roles. The film is said to be a psychological thriller. Speaking about the project, Balki had said, "This film is an ode to Guru Dutt. I think he was one of the most sensitive artists in our country. He was a great filmmaker and his last film – Kaagaz Ke Phool, which we today call a classic, didn’t do well at that point. He never made a film after that."

Recently, R Balki decided to hold a free screening of ‘Chup: Revenge of the Artist’ for the viewers. Speaking about the same he shared, “We usually show it to everybody else first and then the audience, this time it will be them first and then the critics and the industry. We invite so many guests for our first screening, so why not the audience?”
