Vikram Bhatts Haunted (3D) overtakes Y-Films Luv Ka The End at the box-office. Tusshar and Ekta to battle at box-office next week. Both releases of the week Luv Ka The End (comedy) and Haunted 3D (horror) might have had the youth as its main target. But the youth (esp. in metros) preferred the Hollywood release Fast Five (Fast and the Furious 5) over the Hindi films.
Vikram Bhatts Haunted, Indias first film in stereoscopy started on a slow note but showed a steady rise over the weekend. Clearly the 3D version was preferred over the 2D and with the film being dubbed in Tamil and Telugu languages, it catered to a larger audience. The opening weekend collection is Rs 13 crores and considering the modest budget of the film, it should be able to break even. The other release Luv Ka The End had a dull opening and couldnt manage more than Rs 2.5 crores in its opening weekend which is not an encouraging start for the first venture from the Y-Films banner.
Again multiple releases will collide at the box office this Friday. Ekta Kapoors Ragini MMS is making lot of noise for being an experimental offshoot after Love Sex aur Dhoka and Shor in the City from her banner. Amol Guptes Stanley Ka Dabba promises to be the small surprise packet of the week. Nana Patekars Shagird seems somewhat dated but might click with the masses. And finally it really needs to be seen if Rajshri Productions
Love U... Mr. Kalakaar! starring Tusshar Kapoor and Amrita Rao finds any takers in contemporary times. With the brother-sister duo of Ekta Kapoor and Tusshar Kapoor clashing at the box-office, the former has much better prospects.
