Manoj Bajpayee over the last two decades has proven his worth of being one of the strongest and finest acting talent in the country with titles like Aligarh, Satya, Raajneeti, Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, Gulmohar, and The Family Man series. He recently tried his hands at commercial cinema with his latest film Bhaiyya Ji which is a revenge drama. The film is extremely important for Bajpayee household as not only it marks 100th title of Manoj’s career but also introduces his wife, as a producer in the industry.
She had made her debut as
Neha opposite
Bobby Deol in
Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Kareeb and went on to do Fiza with
Hrithik Roshan in Fiza and Ehsaas : The Feeling with
Suniel Shetty. The film also marks his second collaboration with
Apoorv Singh Karki, together they delivered last year’s very successful film Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai.
The film which was made on a reported budget of Rs 20 crore had a decent to underwhelming response over the weekend as it collected about Rs 4.95 crore ( Friday: Rs 1.35 crore, Saturday: Rs 1.75 crore and Sunday Rs 1.85 crore). Going by the numbers the film was expected to drop major numbers on Monday but the film dropped by only 51 % to collect Rs 90 lakh. And on Tuesday the film also stayed steady as it added Rs 85 lakh into its kitty and on Wednesday the film saw another drop to collect just Rs 70 lakh as per early estimates by Sacnilk. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 7.4 crore and most likely it will cross Rs 8 crore mark as its first week collection. The film will be able to recover its money from its box office and non-theatrical rights sale like satellite and digital.
Manoj Bajpayee will next reprise his role as Srikant Tiwari in the highly anticipated third season of the popular web series The Family Man, which has recently gone into production. Directed by
Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, the show's first and second seasons were released in 2019 and 2021, respectively.
