Facing minimal weekday growth, Baby John finds itself in a tough position to attract more audience.
Baby John Box Office Collection Day 7: Varun Dhawan starrer ends Week 1 with Rs 32.65 crore
Varun Dhawan's latest release, Baby John, has had a challenging run at the box office, struggling to gain momentum against strong competition. Despite a slight uptick in collections on its seventh day, the film managed to earn only Rs 2.15 crore, according to early estimates. This brings the total collection for the first week to Rs 32.65 crore.
The film, directed by Kalees and featuring an ensemble cast that includes Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, and Salman Khan, has been overshadowed by larger releases. Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule dominated the box office with a day-seven earning of Rs 7.65 crore, while Disney's live-action Mufasa: The Lion King brought in an estimated Rs 5.75 crore.
While the film currently has a low box office collection, it is reportedly on track to score an estimated Rs 50 crore lifetime collection at the box office. The film had an early start at the box office, hoping to push its opening week collection. However, according to trade reports, the risk of a midweek release is always that if the public rejects then it hardly survives till the weekend. This trend was noticed for Baby John which saw its numbers dip to Rs 3 crore on its first Friday, while its competitors saw a boost in their numbers over the same weekend.
With minimal growth during its weekday run, Baby John faces an uphill battle in the coming weeks to stay afloat amid stiff competition and audience preferences leaning towards other blockbusters.
