Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 beats Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan to become biggest day 1 collection in Hindi

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2- The Rule is spreading like wildfire, not only in Southern states, but it has also lit up the HIndi belt, where it has dethroned the King of Bollywood from the top spot. Pushpa 2 which is a sequel to 2021 Pushpa - The Rise, released on 5th December, and as per Sacnilk, raked in almost Rs 168 crore from its day 1 collection and Rs 10.1 crore from its premiere shows.


On a closer look, one can notice that while Telugu version pooled in Rs 85 crore, it was the Hindi version which catapulted the film into the stratosphere, and made it the highest grossing day 1 collection of Indian Cinema, beating the likes of films like Kalki 2898 AD, KGF 2, RRR and Baahubali 2- The Conclusion.


The film raked in Rs 70 crore from the Hindi belt, beating Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, which had collected Rs 65.5 crore from the Hindi version on day 1, while its overall collection was Rs 75 crore.


The force of Pushpa 2 has been extremely strong as it earned Rs 85 crore from its Telugu version, decimating other southern hits like Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire ( Day 1 Rs -66.75 crore), Kalki 2898 AD ( Day 1- Rs 65.8 crore), Baahubali 2- The Conclusion ( Day 1-Rs 58 crore) . But it failed to beat the record of SS Rajamouli- Ram Charan and NTR Jr’s RRR, which clocked in 103 cr, just from the Telugu version.


Pushpa 2 has already made a smashing entry into highest grossing films of all time of Indian Cinema. It would be interesting to see how soon would the film makes the entry into the Top 10 list.The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in leading roles.
