Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 - The Rule has been spreading his wildfire, burning all kinds of box office records coming in its way. As far as Pan-India stars are concerned, Prabhas has dominated the space since the Baahubali franchise, but even his records are now tumbling in front of Allu Arjun.
For 8 years, SS Rajamouli and Prabhas held the record for the highest grossing south film in Hindi, with Baahubali 2-The Conclusion minting Rs 511 crore, and it was the first ever film from the south to cross Rs 500 crore mark. But that record is now in tatters, as Pushpa 2 in just 11 days, has minted Rs 553 crore in Hindi, making it the highest grossing south film in Hindi.
Pushpa 2 had minted Rs 425.1 crore in Hindi in the first week, and over the second weekend, it added another Rs 128 crore thus taking the overall collection to Rs 553 crore.
The total collection of the film has now reached Rs 900 crore, with nearly Rs 280 crore coming from the Telugu version. And with that, the film has also become the highest grossing film of the year, and also the highest grossing film of Indian Cinema in the post-covid era.
Even in the North American market which has become the biggest market for Telugu films, the film has been minting a lot of the money. Till Sunday morning the film has crossed the US $ 12 million mark making it the 8th biggest Indian film in the circuit.
The makers have already announced the third part of the film, which has been titled as Pushpa 3- The Rampage. But it is going to be a couple of years before the film goes on floor.
