Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein inches towards Rs 38 crore mark

Despite a rough patch in recent times due to his films not working, Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein has shown amazing endurance at the box office, having spent more than a month at the theatres, and surviving the onslaught of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2.


The film which also stars Fardeen Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, Vaani Kapoor, Pragya Jaiswal, and Aditya Seal, minted about Rs 37.69 crore, and on the occasion of National Cinema Day, the film was able to add another Rs 19 lakh into the kitty, despite low screens count, thanks to Stree 2, re-release of Tumbbad, Veer- Zaara and Siddhant Chaturvedi’s latest release Yudhra. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 37.88 crore, and the makers would be hoping to cross Rs 39 crore mark over the next week.

There is no shortage of projects for Akshay Kumar, on his birthday, he announced he's teaming up with Priyadarshan after 14 years, there are also talks about doing a film with Siddharth Anand which wil be directed by Milan Lutharia, who directed him in Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara!. Besides that he’s got Singham Again with Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shettty, Sky Force with Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan, Welcome to the Jungle with Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal and Raveena Tandon, Jolly LLB 3 with Arshad Warsi, and The Untold Story of C. Sankaran Nair with Ananya Panday.
