Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor's romantic drama Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan witnessed a slight uptick in collections on Day 2, earning an estimated Rs 43 lakh at the Indian box office. The film, which opened to Rs 35 lakh on Friday, has now amassed a total of Rs 73 crore in its first two days, according to early estimates by Sacnilk.Despite the modest growth, the film’s overall performance remains underwhelming. On its opening day, it recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of just 9.92%. When compared to Massey’s previous outing The Sabarmati Report (2024), opened at an estiamted Rs 1.25 crore. According to sacnilk, the box office report places the film as Vikrant's current lowest earning film.

The film also faces stiff competition from Hollywood releases like Superman and Jurassic World Rebirth, both of which scored big over the weekend, raking in an estiamted Rs 9 crore and Rs 7 crore respectively on Saturday.Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, directed by Niranjan Iyengar and Mansi Bagla, is a romantic drama that explores themes of love, longing, and emotional vulnerability. The film marks the much-anticipated debut of Shanaya Kapoor, who stars opposite Massey in a story built on music by Vishal Mishra and heartfelt performances.Shanaya, in a recent interview with PTI, expressed gratitude for her debut journey, saying, “It’s all come together and I’m happy with how the journey has been.
The ups and downs are meant to happen for me to be here today.”At the film’s trailer launch, her father, actor Sanjay, became visibly emotional, admitting, “I have never been this nervous... Before I shed some tears, thank you.”With its slow start at the box office, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan now relies heavily on positive word-of-mouth to gain traction through the weekend.
