A 20-minute

street play

on the

LGBTQIA

community written and directed by

Maulikraj Shrimali

of the

Whistleblower Theatre Group

would be staged at IIM, Ahmedabad on Friday afternoon, June 28.

The group is working towards creating awareness about various social issues and has recently organised another such play on manual scavenging, Urfe Aalo, in city.

Talking to us, Maulikraj, said, “Members of the IIM Ally, a LGBTQ resource and interest group of the premier management institute, have invited us to enact this street play in Hindi on the campus to mark the 50th anniversary of LGBTQ liberation movement in New York also known as NYC

Pride March

on June 28.”

Giving details, he said, “Titled Satrangi Salaam, 10 artists in the play try to portray the discrimination faced by the members of the LGBTQIA community despite the ruling on section 377 by the Supreme Court.”

A question and answer session would also be held after the play, he added.
