Lali Lila to be back in Feb

The play’s cast has started rehearsals with new Lali, Mansi Shah
There’s good news for

theatre

enthusiasts, particularly the fans of play

Lali Lila

, directed by Devendra Pem, which was last staged in 2018.

It is a story of Siamese twins and their struggles and is an adaptation of a Marathi play. Earlier, Alisha Prajapati played the role of Lali but quit the

play

in December to ‘explore more opportunities’.

Tarika Tripathi

who has been playing Lila for over a year now continues but with another theatre actor Mansi Shah as Lali.

In fact, Tarika shared the news on her social media while posting pictures from rehearsals with the cast of around nine members, “For all those who are asking when are we starting our shows of LALI-LILA. Here I have something for you guys that we are coming back in February to entertain you.”

Talking to us, she said, “It was really tough to find an actor of the same height as that of me to play Lali. As we are Siamese twins, the height of the girl had to be the same as that of me. After being with Alisha for so long, I was initially nervous. But, Mansi is a really nice person and we bonded well. There was no second thought once I met her. She is just amazing and very cooperative. She is very positive.”

Tarika who says that the play is really close to her heart informed that the full team rehearsals started last week.

On when would the audience get to see the chemistry between her and Mansi on stage in the form of Lali and Lila, she said, “We are rehearsing for six hours daily and are in the process of finalising clothes and the new poster. We are lining up shows and the date and the place of the next performance has not been finalised yet. But, it will be in February.”
